Organization of teaching

Training program

Wing Chun Prague is using, for newcomers and intermediate students, the modified International Wing Chun Academy program compiled by Grand Master Jim Fung.

Students are divided into Grades and Levels according to their skill level.

The lower grades of “Grade 1-6” have a well-defined training program which systematically develops the trainee's skills. This systematic approach makes it possible to have always an accurate overview of the subject matter and topics covered.

In the higher levels “Level 1-3” the teaching is approached individually.

About the training session

Standard training session takes 2,5 hours

The first half hour is devoted to stretching the body and to warming it up by aerobic repeating kicking and punching techniques in pairs into blocks held by a partner. The first Wing Chun form Siu Nim Tau is performed before grouping into advanced groups.

All techniques are focused on practical self-defense for maximum reality with minimal protection and are carried out in pairs (more advanced training also includes self-defense against several attackers). The advanced students practice Chi Sau, “sticking hands” exercise, as well. The training is completed by the Siu Nim Tau.
